Christmas Eve.
Yes, the Grinch escaped from my soul about 2 years ago, and now I love Christmas! Well, kinda...
Leah, my dad and I went to Leah's parents house for dinner, and it was so good! Leah and I made a casserole cause of my veggie diet (which actually is really nice that her parents didnt make that big deal about that cause its still an odd thing for older people to understand why I dont like to eat things with faces) but that just meant I had more room for dessert! Oh man, its so nice when other people cook for you, its definitely one of my most favorite things, it always tastes better with someone elses love.
After we headed over to Tonia and Kirk's house for their annual Orphans Christmas Eve Party. We were some of the first people there at about 11pm, so there was tons of food there for me to pick at and i got to play a bit of fridge poetry ( guilty pleasure, maybe one day I'll do an entire post on that!) Chocolate and cheese are another one of my most favouritest things in the entire world. Total foodgazum! I invited Simon over cause I knew that he had no where to go, and it was really great hanging out with him. We drank endless amounts of Kirk's homemade wine, a jamboree took place, and I was Elvis...
Yep. I think I'm really startin to dig this time of year again... but dont worry, I wont lose my surly self.

Big Night Out...
Yes this is what happened to me. I have to wear snow pants when I ride to the bar. Remember when I would ride downtown in the middle of winter with slicks on my bike and no fenders wearing nothing but skinny pants and and cute lil shoes. My make up all subtle and my hair just right. I was going out on the town... except this happened almost everyday after work. Now look at us, Theresa and I had to get all suited up just to ride down to the Distillery from 17 & 17 squared. Fuck! We must be getting old.
It was so nice to see two monkeys hugging again. I really dont like taking photos with flash, so its too bad that a lot of them didnt work out. I like this one of Ryan and Cori. Cori looks like hes barffing into his hand, and then throwing it back into his mouth, and Ryans trying to teach him how to do it with his teacher glasses and white shirt on. Ha!
After that we rode down to Tele's new gallery called Artlife for the Beatroute Christmas Party to see my dear old pops. Dashing young man isnt he... needs a bit of a hair cut though.

Werd to the Interwebs...
Look what I found... this was about a year ago in my old place in St. Henri...
Good times... yep. I'm totally wasted! Ha!

Imminent Future...
The first post that I put on this blog in February was a photo quite similar to this. I began this without any idea as to what the outcome may be. though its still in progress, like everything in my life, I now understand that wonderful approach. Its always about the progress, process, modus operandi of my life.
New perspectives. I wouldn't take back anything, and I appreciate everything. Ive learned so much in the last year, and I love where I am...
I know it hasn't been a full year, but I do feel like I have completed a full cycle. I think I kinda like blogging, it keeps me in check, or something. ha!
So here's a cheers to shiny things!

Christmas Decor...
So Luke quit his job to become a freelance interior decorator. I'm so proud of him cause I don't see him doing anything else right now. We went to The Bay to shop for all the little fixings that people NEED (ha!) for their house. It was amazing, I kinda forgot what Christmas was all about... and I think I might really like it this year. There was soooo many different sections, and themes... mine was definitely the shiny gold department. Oh shiny things!!!! How I love you so...
Some things did make me sad, but I tired not too look into it, I was having a really good time just playing around with all the different things that people use to saturate their homes for some ridiculous hallmark holiday. I love trees, and to see these little sparkle covered spruces all lined up in a row in these tiny plastic boxes broke my heart. Nothing is ever good enough for anyone anymore. As they shuffle though all the other dissatisfied people looking for the perfect ornament to impress the neighbors with, one would pick up the little box with slight interest, open it, pull out a little tree and think "huh, that's it!?" shove it back in and not even pay attention to the little glitter covered branches, bending and breaking them in the process.
I would be the happiest girl in the world if all I had was one shiny tree.
Lasagna
The advance print projects had a show Saturday afternoon at Arprim titled Lasagna, and yes they served lasagna. My friend Rob Cameron made his piece on me. Rob and I both have work-study together on Saturday afternoons, so we hang out a lot. Needless to say, I got to spill my guts to someone, I guess anyone that I think is deserving, and he made this amazing fortune teller about all the crazy things that I research. The piece is hilarious, well printed and totally functional. Someone even bought it...
So our Saturday morning rituals pretty much consist of Luey, Rob ( featured in above photo) and I talking about the most mundane topics and contorting them into the most bizarre concepts, or we'll take a completely outlandish idea and spin it into something totally comprehensible, and possible. Oh, and this is all done with some of the most lewdest, and crass humor that you can think of. So people have asked as to make a talk show, something kinda like the View where were either given topics, or we choose them and spend an hours to discuss them. This is going to be our new project next semester, we'll film it and make a series... so stay tuned.

Winter is Here!
Yes, its true. I said it... I knew it was going to happen eventually I just didn't know when (that statement definitely applies to more then one scenario in my life right now.)
It happened pretty much the same way it did last year, I'm referring to the snow. A whole weekend goes by, and then I walk out side and BAM!!! Beautiful white blanket covering the entire city. I love it! Everyone forgets how to act, walk, drive... not me, I'm hovering above the snow, skipping along, laughing and sucking on the ice formations that have covered the branches of the trees like the cocoon of a butterfly.
These are some really great icicle's that formed on JP's back porch... amazing. I love the fact that my little dinky point and shoot captured him taking a photo with the flash.
Oh winter... how I love that I can use this season for wonderful transformation.

Art Matters End of Year Party
So the actual party at the VA was kinda... well, I dunno. I'm not an art fag, so I don't really fit in, plus I lost my voice so it was hard for me to talk. I met Justin's roommate and his brother from B.C. so cool, really solid dudes.
I went to the after party at Josh's loft. Oh man, I haven't had that much fun in a long time. It was really really awesome to dance again, and I met some really amazing people. I even got to hang out in the tent... nothing like some Prince and 'Respect'. What a great way to end the school year, and go into the new one... sooooo excited for 2009!

Expozine.
Last Sunday I hit up Expozine. Holy Shit Fuck!!! Soooo much great stuff to look at, and its so hard to take it all in cause the fuckin place is totally packed, and full of stinky, sweaty people. But I love it! So much love, and inspiration, and cool art, and books, and stickers, and posters, and wow! Next year Dan and I decided that were going to go in on a booth together. I was lucky to snag some really cute drawings by Love-Christine. http://www.love-christine.com/ as well and get a copy of Mr. JP King's new book, 'We Will Be Fish.' Lucky me, he signed it too... http://pistolpress.com/
I ran into Matt Thomson there and after we went to Euro Deli for calazoni, and I saw some rad tomato cans with my name on it. So cute! On the way there we say this lovely little drawing, and was wondering does this person mean they love cheese, or swiss cheese?
