CMWC 2008

Considering all the drama and politics that were happing in Toronto before the CMWC had started, I think they did a pretty good job. Though everything was really behind schedule, I guess its ok to run on courier time, even when were not working. So I waited about 5 hours to start my qualifying race. First I waited in line for an hour and totally zapped my legs, so I decided to take a little break/nap and then get back into line. Ok so now, im geared up ready to go, and im off! I kinda wish some of the check point had signs, but I guess thats what its like in courierland, you know... no addresses and you just ride around aimlessly trying to find your pick up/drop. (?!!?!? or something?!!?) anyway, as soon as I figured out some of the check points, I was really just interested in sayin hi to my friends, chattin up the hotties at the check point, you know how I do. I came around the loop and saw that I had to pick up one of though stupid Fedex tubes and I thought... naaaa, maybe next time around. I came around to corner, and looked to my surprise (not really though) Jarvis, lying in the grass with a case of beer. Ha! so I got off my bike and sat down for a little refreshment. Soon enough people started to gather, and I was asked "I thought you were racing?!!?" "well shit, dawg! I am!!!" as I pulled out my manifest and showed them "I only have 2 check points left!!!" Good times.

So main race day I was a check point. believe it or not, it is possible to race AND be a check point too! That was good fun though, I must admit, I was pretty good at it! After the monsoon rains and the main race was over it was time to head back to the main land. On the fairy we saw a full rainbow, its was soooo awesome!

I had such a rad time, I was so happy to be there! Maybe if I save my pennies up I'll be able to hit up Tokyo.

Until Chicago, ride safe everyone!

GOLDSPRINTS

This was the night that I lost my Voice. Oh my! I love cheering at sprints. I had the best seat in the house, and I even had a bed of bags to lie in. Old friends, new friends lying next to me, and at that moment in time I thought: I could die right here, and I would be the happiest person in the world.

Here's Jacques and Moe battling it out to the finish line.

She Rides Again!

This is Barbie resurrected. Yes, it's true. With the help of Barge Cycle Designs, Phil welded me in a new head, top and down tube and she feels just like she used to... just a bit tighter. I love this bike...

Thanks for giving her to me Dayne, and thanks for building it back up for me. Sorry that I didn't paint it pink again, but thats your token colour, not mine.

So... now thats she's not pink anymore, does anyone know what her new name should be?!?!

Torrraaaannnaaa

So I managed to get my shit together, build a bike, find a dope new pad, start summer school and get fired, all in one week. Werd! But I made it, I'm here and its nice. So strange, iv only been her a few times and I remember where everything is. I love this veggie restaurant called Fresh (or Juiced for Life as they were once called) so I took my Father there and made him have the liver cleanser. Ha! he was making some pretty funny faces, but I was proud of him, he downed it all. Maybe it's cause I have spent a few years in Montreal so I've finally gotten used to the street names, not numbers so it was much easier for me to navigate my way around. Its a city that I felt like I have lived here for years. I like that.

This is the view from my room. I'm right off Queen and Bathurst, where I pretty much stayed last time I was here. It was a bit gloomy in the morning but it cleared up and turned into a hot sunny windy day. It was nice that I didn't have to ride up any hills cause theres no way I could have made it up them with the crazy wind today.

So I'm off to Circa to meet some people i don't know... should be fun... It would be nice if I had my official tour guide here, but hes to busy playing in the rain.
