Cock and Bull Craft Night...

Pun totally intended. It was Matt Mewitt's birthday, and after a late night of printing we all needed a beer. Rob and Luey also though that I needed a massive cock. Sorry, but its true... to add contrast I made a cute little vaggie, which ended up looking like a Jawa from Star Wars. Oh plasticine...

Drawing.. In Progress.

Return of the Icicles.

Map of the USA.

This guy that I know by the name of Dave, is a design student at Concordia. He was working on making a book. The piece is quite conceptual, as it is a book with a map of Buffalo printed on all the pages, with no text. His intentions were for the book to be used as a road trip, or a travel log. He asked me if I could print on the head of the book a map of the USA with longitude lines going across. We had to use the biggest C clamp ever to have the book level with the table. It was really hard...but I did it, and it looks dope! WERD I rule!!

The Hospital.

I had an appointment at the hospital today for my cheek. It went well in the sense that I don't need to have surgery, but no so good in the sense that my perfectly healed face doesn't benefit my law suite. Shit.

This green chair is lovely though.

Things I Find...

When walking to your house.

How ferociously ineffable.

Foxy Box and friends

JP pointed this one out when we were leaving school one day, Foxy box and her friend Plain Jane.

So Cute.

Work in Progress... still.

I was really struggling with what exactly I was going to do about this panel, because I had already cut out the paper before I printed on it. Oops. I was originally going to put the bone spiral/fractal on the panels that I had painted for them, and I tried one and it was really hard and I think it looked like shit. So I scrapped that idea, and just did this with the last one that I had left. I'm pretty happy with it, I think. I haven't had much time to look at it, and its kinda disappointing that the lil Sebastian's are upside down, but I think that the composition works fairly well. Now I just need to find out if anyone makes a resin that's matte, and if they do I have to coat my last 3 panels with it. I find the gloss to be a little bit obnoxious. Chloe and I are going to submit these panels to Open Studio in Toronto for there big annual show. I would ask you to wish us luck, but I don't think we need it.

Mr. Beaver...

I was in Cynthia Hammond's office today and she had left the room to go photocopy my proposal. As she was leaving she passed me Mr. Beaver and said that I could play with him while she was gone. Cynthia likes his yellow teeth, she thinks they're awkward.

Garbage Find.

I found this great coffee table in the garbage last night. Its covered with French comics. I wonder who covered it... it was done really well, with lacquer and everything. If I were to take home all the trash that I find in the street I would have probably been able to furnish 2 full houses by now.

What we need.

I think im going to start a monthly posting about how we need more people like "this" in our world.

New Library.

I'm currently helping JP rearrange his home right now. Slowly, but its coming along. A few days ago, we moved his library from his "digital" office into the sun room. I think its one of the best little reading nooks that I've ever seen, the covering on the back of the chair is wonderful... perhaps I'll post a photo of it one day.

I would also like to congratulate you, Mr. Noise Maker... well deserved.

New Years Eve.

I've gone into the new year with no expectations at all, which is great cause nothing but amazing things have been happening. The only plan that I had for new year's eve was to pick up Chloe from work at 11pm. JP King and I walked in at about 11:05pm and Chloe was just getting off work. The darling that she is, greeted us with tea and truffles so we sat in the Napoleon room sipping away while we waited for her. So sweet! Not too long after Evan and JP showed up and we all went down to the old port to watch the fire works. Fuck it was cold!!! Totally worth it though... I felt like I was 5 again. Ooooohh, Awwwwww, Wooooooooo... so fun! We walked over there with these balloons that we took from Chloe's work, but by the time that we got there 2 outta 4 had already popped from the cold. JP King took his and tied it to a branch of a tree and some cute little girl came over and tired to untie it. I took mine off my bag and gave it to JP King to give to the girl. He probably stood there for about 2 mins. before she even noticed that he was stranding right in front of her with a balloon in his hand. When she finally figured it out, she got the biggest smile on her face, took the balloon and skipped away. It was so cute!!! After that was done we raced back to Chloe's work to abscond in the warmth. The two trouble makers of the night showed up... Luke and Clio. It was so awesome... almost all the people that I love in Montreal were there. We chilled in the Napoleon room and drank champagne on other peoples bills while we watched Luke, Clio and Emilie suck the helium outta the balloons. I cant even begin to count how many balloons they used. We took off from there at about 2am and headed over to some loft to visit Joshua Barndt. I wish I would have taken a photo of Josh and JP King dancing it was the sweetest thing ever... awww they love each other so much, its soooo cute! We didn't stick around too long, just enough for Clio to start complaining about the music and begin to play lil miss. DJ. Fuck that girl makes me laugh...
We took off from there and went to Clio's house until the wee hours of the morning. I think the last photo says it all...

I had such a wonderful time. I love you all so very much, thanks for ringing in the new year with me!

Bonne Année!

Monotoxic.

Holy Fuckin Crazy! Best performance art band ever! I'm so glad that I went to that show, it was unfuckin real! Definitely the best show that I saw all year, and it was so rad to see Calgary folks rock out. It's pretty rare that you see that, but the energy and vibe was sooooo good, you didn't have much of a choice but to just go with it.

Me and Sis.

Aleah and I being queens, with pop's doing belly flops.

Black Top Five

I was lucky enough to catch one of my dad's shows when I was visiting cowtown. They rocked out to at the Marquee Room with Matthew Olah from Cowpuncher, and the infamous Camel was suppose to play but he bailed from unknown reasons (go figure!)

Ran into Willy which is always a pleasure, and met his wonderful girlfriend Jen (the cute blondie) and played a couple of games of pool with him and Blue.

Good times all around.

The Ritchey Winter Cross Fixie

Love this bike! I crashed at Blue's house one night and he let me ride this bad boy home. Fuckin hell! I forgot how much fun it is to ride a bike in the snow. Blue's house in right by memorial drive and 14th st. n.w. so I had to take the 14th st. bridge to get home. I was still kinda drinky drunky and decided not to ride on the road, plus the side walk looked more like an adventure that I would want to part take in. The side walks hadn't been cleared since the first snow fall, so it was all icey, packed down bumpy mess. Sooooo fun!!! Holy shit I should race cross, im fuckin good at it. Yeah, fine, I sound like kinda a egoist, im serious though. Ha!

Thanks so much for letting me use your bike Blue, that was really kind of you! Cant wait to see you in a few weeks on the east side of town!!

Canmore.

My father and I took a nice drive to Canmore to have lunch at the Rocky Mountain Bagel Co. I miss the mountains so much, so I was super excited to go, its been a long time. The sky was that beautiful prairie blue, and it was so crisp out. After lunch we went to this little antique store that was having a closing out sale. Most of the books had been picked over, but there was still fun stuff to see. Hence the mini sickle... hell ya!!!
